Gods of Whatever
A full and rather amusing biography of the Gods of Whatever and some other anecdotes can be found on their myspace site. Here I shall continue to take the mick in a gentle; way; after all, these guys are my friends.
Tim and Dave have been knocking around together for years, with the latter forging a bit of a career as a local singer/songwriter. Tim's interest in music flowered a bit later and he was in a band with Ben and Ben's elder brother, an old mate from College. The band were well-meaning but rather ordinary, so Tim and Ben looked for pastures new, took bassist Simon along with them. The Gods of Whatever were born....Apparently Tim's wife came up with the name!
L-R; Tim, Ed, Tom, Dave and Ben watching the football on TV, Queens 2008.
Rehearsing with Ed and singer Lee, they played one show at the Adelphi in support of the Last People on Earth, Lee's first and last. It was inevitable that Dave should join, and the band didn't look back, hitting the ground running in 2006 with a series of gigs around Hull. It was in 2007 that Tom, ex of Khi, replaced Simon on bass to give us todays' definitive Gods of Whatever line up. The band have developed a reputation as an excellent live attraction, with a strong musical lineup and a set of original songs. They are regulars at high profile gigs such as the Sesh and Lamp and are constantly working on new material.
SEE THEM SOON IN A VENUE NEAR YOU. BRING IT ON!
